Why is GMAT important?

The obvious reason is the standardized nature of the test. GMAT has become a criterion for admission to Ivy League MBA programs in the United States, Canada and various European countries.

The test includes analytical, written, verbal, comprehensive and quantitative skills. GMAT aims to assess a candidate’s analytical and problem-solving skills by incorporating data, logic, and critical reasoning.

The GMAT is not an absolute criterion for entering a post-graduate business school. However, there is a strong correlation between GPA in post-graduation programs and GMAT scores. As a result, top business schools tend to place significant weight on GMAT scores while considering admission opportunities.
