“Taco Tuesday in Tucson” is a column where we explore unique taco stands across Tucson…on Tuesdays.
Owners of The neighborhood opened the new concept La Chingada Cocina Mexicana in 2021, then more recently they added another restaurant to the neighborhoodtherefore, to say.
Cruda Mariscos and oyster bar opened in La Chingado’s former location at 31 N. Scott Ave. – La Chingada has since moved to Cafe Poca Cosa’s former location around the corner at 110 E. Pennington St.

Since opening, the restaurant has been bringing its ocean vibes and Baja California cuisine to downtown Tucson.
Let’s talk about their tacos, though. One, in particular, are the Tacos Gobernador, which consists of crispy grilled corn tortillas sandwiched with melted cheese. Then you have the option of filling it with marlin, manta or a mixture of shrimp and scallops.
Cruda Mariscos & Oyster Bar is open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Back to the previous mention of The Neighborhood adding more restaurants to its Culinary District. The bar is opening a new location at 61 E. Congress St., which was once The Aquadec nightclub. Keep an eye out for this one as there is no exact opening date yet.
