Middlesbrough club offer lids to protect clubbers’ drinks from peaks

Dancing in a nightclub with friends should be the time to let go.

But recent reports of fortified drinks have led nightclubs and venues to take a stand and clubbers to be on their toes.

The Middlesbrough Empire, Corporation Road, is one such place and he called on StopTopps to protect the drinks.

The anti-puncture aluminum lids were designed to deter drink biters and are suitable for any drinking container.

“The Empire is now officially part of the Stamp Out Spiking UK with new StopTopps available for free in our bars to cover and protect your drinks ”, the popular place posted on facebook.

“If you see any suspicious activity or something that doesn’t look right, please report it to Empire personnel overnight.

“I hope all bars, pubs, venues and clubs will follow suit so that we can make Middlesbrough a safer place.

“Let’s put a lid on it and have a good time.”

In a recent Teesside Live story, a father recounted the horror after his daughter contacted him, believing she had been doped at a party.

To prevent such cases from happening again, sites such as The Empire have joined the Stamp Out Spiking UK campaign, which offers resources and solutions to help people stay safe.
