Scotland’s best bars and pubs have been unveiled at a glitzy awards ceremony for the 2022 Scottish Bar & Pub Awards in Glasgow.
Hundreds of Scottish licensed traders came together to celebrate their achievements, enjoying the entertainment of Abba MANIA.
Crowning the country’s best-loved pubs, the prestigious event saw over 27 venues and individuals win coveted awards from across the country, including Glasgow’s Ga Ga, Troon’s Fox and Glasgow’s Black Ivy and Virgin Hotels. Edinburgh.
Organizer Susan Young said: “It’s been another amazing year for the annual Scottish Bar and Pub Awards as we’ve honored some of the most creative, hardworking and best-loved venues in the country. After a tough few years for the licensed trade, it’s fantastic to see so many places devoting their time to staff training, inventive menus and new initiatives.
“From Inverness to Dundee, from Troon to Uddingston, this year’s winners have gone above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service, create new cocktails or champion their local music scene. I would like to give a special mention and warm congratulations to Colin Blair, winner of the DRAM Lifetime Achievement Award, from Buzzworks, and Giovanna Eusebi, Inspirational Woman of the Year, from Eusebi Deli. These are two worthy winners who bring honor to our industry. Congratulations to all and thank you for once again helping us shine the spotlight on Scotland’s best venues.
Now in its 27th year, the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards, dubbed the Oscars of Hospitality, spotlight Scotland’s licensed traders and independent operators, rewarding the country’s best-loved venues. Finalists are shortlisted from online voting open to the public, with over 3,500 votes cast this year and visited by an esteemed jury to crown the final winners.
The awards recognize everything from Kopparberg New Pub of the Year, Hi Spirits Best Live Music Venue and even Antos Dog Friendly Pub of the Year. The winners were announced from 75 finalists at last night’s scintillating awards ceremony at the Doubletree Hilton Glasgow Central, as Scotland’s top bar and pub operators came together to celebrate a banner year.
Glasgow’s bar and pub scene got a facelift at the awards show, with local institutions such as Piper Whiskey Bar winning Benromach’s Whiskey Bar of the Year, and the Palace Bar in the East End winning the coveted prize of the evening, the Sunday Mail Pub of the Year. West End stalwarts Eusebi Deli won the Stoli Sustainability Award while Scoop Restaurants, operators of world-renowned venues Ka Pao and Ox and Finch, won Independent Operator of the Year.
The awards are Scotland’s longest-running licensed business awards and celebrate rising industry stars, community-led initiatives and the creative forces that drive the country’s top venues.
